Gen Z averages around 9 hours of screen time per day
Constant screen time is radically and negatively changing our eyes. When our eyes spend more time focusing on near objects, like phones and screens, it makes our eyeballs elongate, which prevents the eye from bending light the way it should. Elongation increases near-sightedness; this condition is called myopia, which causes distant objects to appear blurred. If the eyeball gets really stretched, it can lead to a detached retina and even loss of sight.
Gen Z are people with the shortest attention span. Gamification or implementation of various rewards in the product has potential for reaching a bigger audience, as people love receiving something in return or winning. That's why video games are so addictive.
Gen Z require constant stimulation to stay engaged
See for yourself…
I mean, not with your glasses
Not many of us like exercising, but our eyes love and need it. EyeSee is not just about doing regular exercises; it's about learning and maintaining crucial habits that prevent potential loss of sight.
To get inside the minds of my audience, a thorough research was crucial to find out how they use technology. My age puts me into the Gen Z category but my lifestyle and habits are dramatically different from most young people. Feedback from people with different background was essential for coming up with a solution that worked. My design choices were based on a mix of empathy and clever user psychology.
Decoding Gen Z's digital dilemma
A Character That Speaks
(quite literally)
The visual identity needed to connect with the target audience in the most natural way. I created a digital character, named Eye, who has its own personality and connects with users in a friendly way. From illustrations to typography, every element was designed to invoke feelings of trust, fun and engagement.
